Amazon's Top 10 - Because I pretend to care.

I subscribe to Amazon.com emails because I like to believe that I'm a "reader". Sadly though, I am not. At least not anymore; I definitely was in my pre-parenting days. I do have a couple books I've been working on slowly (i.e. a parenting book I started this summer and a book club book from last May... I haven't been to book club since.) In my view, reading is a luxury I simply can't make time for - except for the Twilight series. I somehow managed to make time for that.

At any rate, I thought I'd share this: Amazon.com's top ten books of 2008. Not only haven't I read any of them, but I haven't even HEARD of any of them. I feel so out of touch right now.

I've been working on the same book for ... probably a year? I don't even know. In any case, I'm still on something like page 15. Pathetic. I can't even argue that I don't have time. It's the damn computer and my inability to pull myself away from it.

If it makes you feel any better, I fancy myself a reader, and don't recognize any of these books either.

i've only heard of the lazarus project- but that's because its a movie. watching the movie takes a lot less time than reading the book...

Don't let her fool you. She still buys a lot of books... which sit gathering dust on our shelves.

lately i've started a book, read part way through and then started another one. i guess it's my feeble attempt to read all the books i've bought that are gathering dust.

Book Club- so sad. I tried to trap myself into reading by checking them out from the library, and I had like 4 of them overdue with the maximum fines. Now I'm determined to just go to Book Club without ever reading and pretend I have a hobby. :)
